Budget Trainer, LLC ("Budget Trainer," "we," "us," or "our") helps clients find savings on their recurring bills, loans, and insurance. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our website or submit an intake form, how we use and share it, and the choices available to you.

By submitting an intake form or otherwise providing information to us, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on which intake form you complete and how far you go. It may include:

Contact & Personal Information

• Name and, where a joint account holder is included, their name
• Phone number and email address
• Mailing address or zip code
• Date of birth (yours, and, where applicable, an insured party's if different from you)
• Household income

Bills & Account Details

• Phone, internet, TV/cable, landline, and streaming service details, including carrier/provider, monthly cost, number of lines, device financing balances, and applicable discounts
• Loan and mortgage details, including lender, balance, interest rate, monthly payment, and remaining term
• Insurance details, including auto, home/renters, umbrella, life, identity theft protection, supplemental health (e.g. Aflac), and pet insurance — vendor, monthly cost, deductible, and coverage amounts
• Vehicle identification numbers (VINs), where provided for auto insurance

Documents You Choose to Share

• Bill statements or declarations pages you upload directly through a form, or email to us at your option

Site & Session Information

• Basic technical data generated by using our forms (such as form submission timestamps)
• A session cookie on password-protected pages we may create for a specific client review (see Cookies & Site Sessions below)

You are never asked to provide account logins, passwords, Social Security numbers, or banking credentials, and we do not knowingly collect that information through our forms.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide to:

• Review your current bills, loans, and insurance policies to identify potential savings
• Prepare and deliver your personalized savings report
• Contact you by phone, email, or scheduled call to discuss your results and next steps
• Negotiate with, or shop alternatives among, your service providers on your behalf, where you've approved us to do so
• Maintain records of the services provided to you
• Improve our services and intake process

We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not sell your personal information.

3. How We Share Your Information

We share information only as needed to provide our service:

• Service providers and carriers — when negotiating or comparing plans on your behalf, we may share relevant account details with your current or a prospective provider
• Vendors who support our operations — such as our form and hosting provider (Netlify) and scheduling provider (Calendly), who process data on our behalf
• Legal or safety reasons — if required to comply with a law, regulation, subpoena, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Budget Trainer or others

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

4. Data Storage & Security

Form submissions are collected and stored through Netlify Forms and processed over encrypted connections. Access to client information is limited to Budget Trainer staff who need it to do their work. While we take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as needed to provide our services and for a reasonable period afterward to support recordkeeping, client service, and legal or accounting requirements. You may request deletion of your information at any time as described in Your Choices & Rights below.

6. Cookies & Site Sessions

Certain pages we prepare for an individual client review are protected by a password. When you enter that password successfully, we set a session cookie (bt_session) in your browser so you don't have to re-enter it during your visit. This cookie expires automatically after 24 hours and is only used to keep that specific page's access secure — it is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

7. Your Choices & Rights

You may contact us at any time to:

• Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Request that we correct inaccurate information
• Request that we delete your information, subject to our legitimate need to retain certain records
• Withdraw consent for us to continue working on your behalf

8. Children's Privacy

Our services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
